        I am humbled

Posted in How are you today? on Aug 1, 2010

Good morning all, I am so very humbled at this moment in time with all the Love and prayers sent my way, and so thankful that I find hearts here so full.

When life is good it is easy to be open to what each day brings, easy to face the troubles that come by...when life is hard it is difficult to do so, yet we must strive in those hard times to meet the day positively...keeping faith when there seems to be no reason, standing in hope when the storms surround us, holding our hearts open when our mind screams close the door...

There is a true strength found within each of us that only comes through facing adversity head on...a dignity that rises out of the ashes of our humility and circumstance.

I sincerely thank each of you for sharing the most difficult thing each of us face...the laying down of our ego and pride to do what must be done to help each other, our families, our self.

We may not have coin to share, but somehow it becomes unimportant when there is such Love for one another---not demeaning the need as we all live in a world that runs on money--just saying it makes my personal load lighter knowing that I face this enemy not alone but with others who refuse to allow this enemy to take my most valuable possesions--my heart and my soul.   Love to each of you!!!

Life marches forward with or without us

Posted in How are you today? on Jul 27, 2010

Have not been on for many months, and just dropped in quickly to say Hello dear people.  A year of joy and sadness, and the unbelievable honor of participation in bringing in new life...and holding the hands of those departing this one.  When I was last on here, I was trying to find a way to help out with gas for transportation for a mother with a sick child, and sadly was unable to contribute due to the circumstances that life put into my immediate way.  To her and all of my fellow aidpager's I send prayers for moments of indescribable joy amongst the daily grind we all face.  If we open our hearts to the warmth of the sun, or the warmth of a hug...then whatever life throws at us can be met with strength and determination to go on.  I pray all our hearts remain open, that if life is hardening those hearts some small joy will create a miracle--that may not solve the dilemna being faced--but give you a smile that cracks the shell being built around your heart.  We can not always direct what life throws in our paths, but we can determine how we are to meet it...and I pray we all continue to meet it with open arms...as much to say "you can try to take me out but I won't go quietly or crying but rather with my full and undivided heart"...The world may crumble around me, but the I of me will not be destroyed.

        Much Love, ksoulsak

LIfe is often not what we expect it to be, but we are greater than the unexpected.

        Hi  folks

I have been away for a long time.  Much has been happening that I needed to respond to in my family.  Parents are older and both went through cancer treatments...2 for my father.  My sis in law has been battleing against some debilitating affects of diabetes for 10 years and recently diagnosed with terminal lung cancer...she  just passed a few weeks ago.  The house we rent was declared in a bankruptcy so had to figure out where to move to and come up with that money.  It has been tough with travel to help out my family...which means time off of work or creating sources of income...and  then having to come up with serious money for rent/deposits,etc.

God is good and remembers us.  When we aren't looking so much at our selves and reach out to help others inspite of our own circumstances, God intervenes on our behalf. I think the lesson is that we don't focus so inwardly that we forget there are others out side ourselves that are in even more desperate need.  We need to reach across the aisle, so to speak, and lend a hand...helping hands are free to give and recieve.  God has to be given room to work, and if we are so busy working and struggeling, complaining and crying God can not bestow the miracles, the blessings on us.  I couldn't afford to go to help like I did, but I did anyway because it was the right thing to do, and received the blessing of an affordable home in a good decent neighborhood.  Remember to have  faith, to keep hope alive, and to reach out with Love to someone else---love is free, a smile is free, a conversation and doing someones chores if they can't is free...sharing your meager meal with just one other person a good thing.

I apologize if I sound all preachy...and if you feel what I said is unrealistic...but I just lived it and when I was helping out others I felt better, when I forgot my own troubles others appeared in my life to help me...I will remember this and continue to help those within my reach...I don't have dollars, but I do have a mind, a body and a soul that I can give from freely.

I hope all your days bring a reason to smile at least once!!!

Wow, I have been away for a while.  Hope all are finding ways to improve their lives this new year!  My family dealt with good things and not so great things over the holidays, but preserverance and faith are our constant companions.

I remind myself that sugar comes in lumps and roses come with thorns, lololol.

I have been and will be helping 3 family members with cancer treatment--one diagnosed 3 days before Christmas with stage 4 lung cancer (who is also diabetic). 2 who are at the end of their treatments with positive looking post diagnosis.  Prayers and positive thoughts are appreciated, and thank you already!!!

Not a pity party, just looking for the good postive support that aidpagers give abundantly!!!

May you all experience really great times even through the tough times--thats what makes the good times great right?!?!

HAPPY IN THE NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!

        Welcome damgoodbuilder,

Your opinion is valuable.  Sometimes people need to have a "little kick in the pants" to remember what this season is supposed to be about.  I choose different words, that is just me.  I find people respond to harsh words first by being defensive...and they don't really hear what you are trying to impart to them.  Again, that is just my experience.

I have said, and will reiterate many times this season, Look around and you will be able to find treasures in nothing.  Junk mail can become colorful paper chains, magazines can become origami christmas trees, old newsprint can be rolled into coils and you can create beautiful bowls. (origami is a great way to utilize and create wonderful gifts from nothing) Share a cup of cocoa with your kids as you look at all the lights and displays-(the ones you previously lamented that you don't have)-vote on the favorites, sing carols, suddenly you have created a shared memory that will outlast not getting some store bought item.  This list can go on and on of making something from nothing-imagination, creative ideas are endless, just take the time to stop viewing your television and your neighbors shopping bags to see that you have everything you need right in front of you.  That is my message, I pass it on as often as I can.  It is a gentler form of your message, but it is the same message.

Even when we can afford gifts, my kids still enjoy the making and giving of something from nothing-they are all grown up with kids of their own and it went from just me trying my best to give my kids a special christmas to a family tradition--and that is a real treasure to my heart!!  (one that doesn't break as soon as the warrenty runs out)

If you get grief from you posting, don't let it deter you...people need to hear that being poor is not a sin, it is not permanent...but people need to look beyond and find ways to save, to prioritze.  Your way of speaking and my way, and the ways of others here will reach different people--and that is the way aidpage works best.

and Welcome to Aidpage damgoodbuilder, from me to you, make it the season you wish it to be!

You have a beautiful spirit.  Your words will inspire and encourage.  I am reminded every day that Love is more valuable than Gold.  I try to always keep that in front of my vision and my families vision as we go through the various ups and downs of our journey here on earth.

It is difficult for many to keep this in the heart when bombarded daily with advertisement that speaks to the mind set of the world.  It is difficult for many to kep this in the heart when bombarded daily with life's struggles.  Thank you for helping others find a way to remember their heart, and also helping them find ways to fulfill the needs brought on by the world.

         in response to Susan23...

        Susan23,

Doing the right thing is always a good thing, whether you are a christian or any belief system.   Very often, actually most often, you will get no reward save the one you recieve in your own heart from doing something for someone else.  That should not stop you from continuing your charitable ways.

We must remember the old woman who gave generously of her meager savings vs. the rich who gave miserly from their riches.

It is how you believe, how you wish to live your life, what you wish to teach your children, the example you want to gift the community around you that counts.  Do what you do because it is true to your heart, not because someone may appreciate it outwardly.

You may never know how your smile, a warm meal, a place to lay down in safetly and warmth may touch truly touch a life...because they may never be able to tell you or show you. (for whatever circumstance prevents them).

You must continue on faith that what you give creates a pattern that will be passed on.  I have been helped anonimously, have not been able to thank properly...but I try to pass it on in the same spirit that I benefitted from.

Kudo's to you, to your family for giving, without recieving, from whatever you have.  That speaks volumes about who you are, let your heart be full!!!

Hello fellow aidpager's.  Still poor, but extremely happy.  My kids and I all got together, pooled our funds and instead of doing the material christmas we are all going to be together to give thanks on Nov. 27.  I am so very thankful.  It will be the first time that my two grandchildren meet.  It is a wonderful small miracle, and I am counting it over and over in my meditations as the best blessing.  Never stop having faith my friends!!!!!

        Great eternal blessings to all.

Sometimes the help we receive is the ability to help someone else.

It doesn't solve money issues, we all have empty wallets.  It does in fact help our emotions, our spirit...and sometimes You or I may know a program or a shelter or have an extra pair of shoes that someone else could benefit from.

Being poor is not the end of the world, it is not a crime, never hang your head in shame or despair.

If you must stand in a line at the food bank, do it with pride and the knowledge that you are doing everything you can to provide for yourself and those you love.

Take the information given here on these pages to heart, Explore every option--because it comes from people just like you, people who have indeed "walked a mile in your shoes".  And don't forget to share what you know as well, it will lift your heart, it will help someone at sometime.

Deal honestly with creditors and landlords--it may not save you from eviction or keep the utilities from being shut off, but it will preserve your dignity and your self respect.

Remember your children are watching, not so much at what you have but how you deal with adversity is their true lesson--may you teach them well.  If you do not have children it still holds true--the world judges, let them see your light in the darkness--it may change their attitude for the better.

It is possible to give and receive here on aidpage, but you must open your mind and your heart to what is here.

Sharing is caring...so share a lot!!!!  Good things do happen!

                                            Love to all here,  ksoulsak

        The autumn season has arrived!

October- I like to reflect on the harvest that has been reaped from life's garden (Yes even the weeds in the garden, and the rough rows that had to be hoed!).

Nov- I try to share with enthusiastic thankfullness from my heart all that has been good throughout the year (and come to think of it... even that which was not so great because it made me stronger and more appreciative of the many blessings!).

Dec-I remember that it is not what I get, but what I give to others that defines whether the gift of living the past year has been worthy or wasted (I may not have money, but I have time, I have an ear/shoulder, I have faith, I have no excuse not to share what I have been so abundantly given!).

Here is to my favorite time-the 3 best holidays- that nature brings to an end with such a flourish of colour and beauty- to remind me to look again at the past year and celebrate the wonders, the miracles, and the blessings that were a part of my very ordinary life.

Happy Hopeful Autumn to All!  ksoulsak

Friends, this issue is my personal passion.  It is not easy to see, harder to believe--but if you think your life is a mess, just take a look and you will know you are blessed!  We are free, we may be poor, but we are free.  Things can change for us--but for the case of the human trafficking victim ther is no choice, no freedom if we do not lift our voices for them.  The above is a movie trailer that will be coming soon to theaters--it is an important issue.  The site itself will begin to open your eyes--this is not just happening in cambodia, bosnia, brazil, africa...it is happening on our streets, in our cities!!  In "mygroups" I have posted a comment that lists several sites that all are trying to make a difference...yes they need money, but they also need voices, and bodies to volunteer and that is free to give.  This problem crosses all gender, race, and economic boundries.  It can quickly affect you.  DO NOT VIEW THESE IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO BE BROUGHT HUMBLY TO YOUR KNEES, AND FEEL TRUE PAIN IN YOUR HEART!

I know we all have medical, financial issues, but again, I beleive if I am unable to currently change my circumstance--perhaps I can reach out and make a difference for someone else.  When I take my eyes off of me,me,me and mine I find I am able to be a better person and in turn positive things happen in my life

These beautiful humans have no voice, find themselves with no choice..will you dare to add your voice to help?

Thanks all, I know this is not a pretty subject, I appreciate being able to post it here.

People, human trafficking is happening not just in third world countries, but right here in our own cities!!  This is my passion.  It must end!!  Not just runaways, or juveniles in gangs--straight a students, kidnapped girls and boys, and yes very young children sold and brought into our country to be used, abused, and thrown literally on a trash heap when they are through with them.  Please help by giving voice to this tragedy.   Anyone with a small child, whether you are rich and feel safe in your environment-or you live in the worst neighborhoods-this epidemic affects all of us and can happen to any of our children!!!  IT MUST STOP, STRONGER LAWS, MORE PROSECUTION--NOT OF THE GIRLS WHO ARE ALREADY VICTIMS BUT THE SELLERS AND EQUALLY IMPORTANT THE BUYERS!!

Good Morning everyone.  I am a little embarrassed, and hope this is not pretentious.  I truly hope that the following can help someone, and ask that if you have info that is relevant to the theme, please add it to one of my "mygroups".  (at least I think that is how this works, lololol.)

I have posted 2 groups under "mygroups".  One has posts that may help point you in a fresh direction on seeking grants and may give you some new options to forclosure/loan troubles.  The other has ways to be involved, everyone has a passion and giving it a voice is empowering--a way to change things when often our circumstances make us feel totally helpless.

I keep seeing people asking about government grants.  It really brings me great sadness to see anyone get sucked into false hope.  Yes, there are some types of help from government, but mostly it is to organizations that you can then go to for help.  If you have any information that can steer someone else to a form of funding that is legitimate, please feel free to post it there.

The other is a "mygroup" concerning how to be involved in Americas renewal.  Not just America, but really the world too--we are all interconnected after all!!  I have posted a few sites, if you have a passion for a particular cause, feel free to post it for others!  I just ask that it not be a site that is offensive or rude.

Aidpage is about helping each other, Sometimes it helps to feel that you can make a difference--especially when nothing seems to be going forward in our personal lives.   I have found that the more I try to help where I can, the more I receive.

        What we're doing.

We're building a hub for politics on the Internet. There are three parts:

        Data
There's a lot of great information out there about politics — votes, lobbying records, campaign finance reports. Unfortunately, it's split across a dozen different web sites and often hidden behind confusing interfaces. We're pulling all of that together and letting you explore it in one elegant, unified interface. (Plus, we're sharing all the results so you can come up with new ways to explore it.)
        Action
Just giving you information isn't enough. Unless you can do something about it, it's just going to get you down. So we're building a series of first-class tools for getting involved‚ ways to write and call your representatives, send letters to local media, and figure out who to vote for.
        Causes
But politics isn't about people doing things in isolation; it's about coming together around shared causes. That's why we let you start your own causes and campaigns, invite your friends to join them, and let you learn about other causes that could use your help.

It's an ambitious project. We'll be adding things to the site as we build them, but we could always use your help speeding things along.

Our government is a bit bent and tarnished, even outright broken in some areas...but it is still the best there is and we can fix it.  Join groups, it cost nothing to lend your voice to the many different political, socio/economic, and alternative choice groups.  Research internet sources for one that fills your heart with passion, or gives an outlet to your great ideas for a solution.  They all need money to fund their programs, HOWEVER, all of them require participation to give weight and creedance to their agenda.  Again, participation in person at rallies, or over the internet for free, or in writing for the cost of a stamp and envelope.....you can be a huge part of the rehabilitation of our great United States---UNITED is the key word!!!  RALLY ON MY FELLOW AMERICANS!!!

Have an adjustable-rate mortgage? It's probably time to bargain.

Those with credit problems will have a tough time refinancing. In that case, talk with your lender before you miss any payments. The lender may be able to modify the terms of the loan, which could lower the interest rate or tack on some of the costs to the end of the loan. And depending on your mortgage balance and the housing market in your area, it might be best to try to sell.  If you're in that situation, it's also a good idea to seek help from a housing counseling agency approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). See the map for links to agencies in your area.
If you're worried about foreclosure, contact the Homeownership Preservation Foundation (888-995-HOPE), which offers free urgent housing counseling 24 hours a day, either over the phone or through a live chat on the Web.  This organization is a joint effort by government agencies, local nonprofits, mortgage banks and select credit-counseling agencies to help people avoid foreclosure.  Todd Mark, director of consumer relations for the Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Greater Atlanta, which is a HUD-Approved housing counseling agency and provides counseling through the Homeownership Preservation Foundation, says they're currently providing 1,700 to 2,000 urgent housing consultations every month. No matter what kind of loan you have, it's best to call your mortgage service company to see if you have room to negotiate. It costs nothing to ask.

DEAR faithfuld and all AIDPAGE USERS PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING, AND SAVE WHAT MONEY YOU HAVE!

There are no free grants. When they ask you to fill out a survey to see if you qualify for free grants--no matter what you type in they will say "yes you qualify just send us the money and we will send you the information"--its a lie!!!!  These companies are legitimately going to send you stuff in the mail, but the help will not be there as promised.  The information that will be sent is the same information that you can get from the site grants.gov-which is run by the U.S. health and human services. After paying the scammers, you will have to follow the same process as that given on grants.gov. to apply.  You still must register and meet the applicable criteria.  Please check out the free site grants.gov. and keep your money in your purse!!   The small business administration can assist in self employment opportunities/resources, student loans are through FAFSA.  Other than state assistance, really there are no personal monetary assistance programs except those local charities that can offer 500$ to 1500$ typically.  Shriners may help with optical problems if you write or go to their meetings and present your plea.  My daughter received the operations neccesary to keep her from being blind in one eye from this group.  The Vets, the Knights and other groups provide specific charity work, but you must ask.   I hope this is not deflating to your hopes, I just don't want to see more people get scammed out of money that they really can not afford to lose on false hopes.  Please Please do not send anyone money for this type of scam--especially when it sounds to good to be true!!

I have added a short compiled excerpt from two articles, and their authors.  Pretty interesting and informative.  The list above for e-sites and a phone number were given in the article .  I checked out the e-sites and they are extensive and worth your time to search through...lots of good info on a myriad of problems/solutions.
I hope it may help some and Good Luck to all.
        Fix an Adjustable-Rate Mortgage

We certaintly need to lift our voices...that takes no money.  We certaintly need to vote...that is still free.  Every one here has internet, it is a good forum to be able to be heard...it is important to be a part of the solution.  We need to join together across our great nation, and demand our government serve the poorest first...it is still WE the People, not WE the POLITICIANS.  This bailout is designed to help the richest, with assurances that it is in our middle/low income best interest.  What a very large lie... It is clear from past experience the "trickle down" approach never quite reaches the masses.  Wouldn't it be nice if our government were really trying to help out us ordinary folk and decided on a  "trickle up" approach!  Ain't gonna happen, but with that thought in mind, VOTE SPEAK OUT, WRITE, BE A POSITIVE INFLUENCE ON OUR POLITICAL PROCESS!!

Perhaps some of these free dental clinics all in Los Angeles, if you don't mind students working on you. These clinics include: the mobile clinic, the USC Rescue Mission in downtown Los Angeles, the Children's Dental Center in Inglewood, Hollenback House in East Los Angeles, the Queens Care program in Hollywood, Children's Hospital in San Diego, Memorial Hospital in Long Beach, Los Angeles County Hospital, and Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

I hope you can find some relief at one of these clinics.  Best of Luck, it is no fun to have a hurting mouth.

         in response to ekikaseven...

That was so nice of you ekikaseven.  It is a beautiful prayer, and it's message a comfort.

The community of San Leon are a fine group of people.  As we worked to remove debris, 2 ladies came around with burgers and dogs...just going around the neighborhood and feeding everyone they see.  These ladies are not affiliated with any org.  just doing something nice for their community.  Another truck was driving around handing out bottled water, just because.  Lots of older citizens there, nice to be able to give a hand where needed.  The weekend was a nice lesson in appreciating what I have been given.  I have been humbly reminded to give a louder voice to my Blessings than my laments!
